Mrs. Lori's Art Class

After church today I was looking on facebook and was SO EXCITED to see that Mrs. Lori's Art Class had an opening today for their 3 o'clock Christmas Tree Class. It was 2:30 when I noticed the post, so we hurried. Mrs. Lori is an AMAZING art teacher that has special art classes in her home and at Hobby Lobby sometimes. The classes are small so she can give each student the attention they need. You usually have to book your spot MONTHS in advance if you want a spot. This was Brayden's first art class with her and I was SO PROUD OF HIS WORK!!! The students started with a blank canvas and created these perfect little treasures! He had such a great time and can't wait to do it again!

Grandparent's Day at Jim Stone Elem.

Brayden's school invited grandparents to be part of the kids day on Friday. It was a BIG hit :-). Pawpaw was out of town on business and couldn't attend, but Sissy was happy to take his spot. I'm sad that Sissy didn't get in any of the pictures, but she was working the camera ;-). Brayden was so excited to see them! When mom and Sissy were done at the school, we had a girls lunch at Holly's Country Cafe. The food was GREAT and the visit with them was even better!! Thank you Nana and Sissy for coming up for the day and making my little man feel so special. We love you!

Today was my final divorce hearing, a very bittersweet day for me. Yesterday was extremely hard on me emotionally and spiritually. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone that has sent me messages, texts, calls, and posts of support, prayer, and love. I truly felt it because today I woke up with a peace and confidence that I have not felt in a LONG time. I KNOW God was holding my hand and guiding my heart. I have such WONDERFUL parents, family, and friends that have stood by my side every step of the way. The outcome of the hearing was better than I could have hoped for, my boys and I are so thankful for our legal team. After the hearing today a good friend of mine stopped by to check on us and told me about a FULL TIME (YAY) employment opportunity available immediately that her friend wants me to do AND they will work with my schedule for the boys. Shortly after that, I saw that I got a child support check........FINALLY........YAY!!!! What an AMAZING God I serve!! Wow, three HUGE Blessing in one day! It really goes to show that when you release the evil from your life, the blessings have room to move in. THANK YOU LORD!!!!

The weather was PERFECT tonight for trick or treating! The boys and I went to our good friends house, The Cowger's, before heading out in their neighborhood. Lunch Date, Pumpkin Patch Fieldtrip, and a Few Extras

The first picture captures my sweet boy's personality perfectly. We had just got to church and he found a red boa and started dancing without a care in the world. I just adore his free spirit! I was excited to have a lunch date last week with Brayden at his school. He was so excited to see me (I surprised him) and bragged to his whole class that he kissed his mom, lol. Something tells me that won't be very cool to him much longer ; ) This past Friday, Brayden had his first fieldtrip with his kindergarten class. They went to Schaefer's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Mayflower. There were so many fun things for them to do. Brayden had a great time. I am thankful I got to share such a fun day with him! Friday night we met up with some friends at Big Ben's in Vilonia. Their food is YUMMY and the boys had a great time.

Saturday night was such a great time! My dear friend Kristi had a wonderful birthday dinner celebration at Mike's Place. Even though I have only known Kristi for about a year and a half, she has quickly become one of my closest friends! I absolutely adore her and her sweet family. Kristi is a great friend, an inspiring Christian woman, and one of the BEST mother's I know! I am so blessed by her friendship. I hope I look half as gorgeous as her when I turn 40! Happy Birthday sweet friend!!!!

Tonight was open house at Brayden's school. He was excited to show us the different learning stations in his classroom, where he sits, and even the bathroon ; ) Mrs. Philpott gave him a good report academically and behavior wise, I was so proud of him! We then toured the library and his GT classroom or "thinking room" as he calls it. I was so proud of him when his P.E. teacher approached me and said Brayden was a very well behaved young man : ) My little man is growing up!

I am so very proud of how well Brayden is doing academically in school. We are only nine weeks in and already he can write/recognize all upper and lower case of the alphabet and their sounds. He can recognize, SPELL AND READ all colors. He can count, recognize, and write to 199. He knows all the days of the week. He can read at least 25 site words, not counting his colors. His coloring and drawing has improved LEAPS AND BOUNDS since the beginning of summer. The first drawing on this post is my favorite. The assignment was to draw your family. It made my heart happy that he used bright colors and that everyone is smiling : ) The teacher was impressed with his use of color, such as green for grass and blue for sky. I couldn't ask for more academically out of Brayden! Now if we could just get his listening skills up a knotch or two ; )

Fun Family Weekend!

The boys and I just got back in town from a fun weekend at Sissy's! Uncle Keith was in and we were all missing him! Sissy always makes us feel at home and her Southern cooking is GREAT!!! : ) She had homemade vegetable beef soup and cornbread waiting on us when we got there. YUMMY! Saturday I got to sleep in and woke up to the BEST homemade biscuits and gravy with bacon. I'm so glad she doesn't spoil us ; ) After breakfast we went to get supplies for the fun Fall display for Sissy's yard. I LOVE Fall, especially decorating for it!! The boys even got to decorate pick out their own pumpkins and decorate them. My highlight was teaching my son how to throw a football in a spiral. HE IS AWESOME and caught on so quickly!!!! Coach Petrino......he'll be ready to wear that Hog jersey with PRIDE!! I also worked on spiraling his kicks, but that's a work in progress ; ) If the Hogs could have pulled off a win, it would have been icing on a perfect day! We headed back to Conway early today. I had every intention of going to church (we never like missing), but the boys reminded me it was last day of Lion King in the theaters. Disney has it in the vault on dvd, and the boys lost theirs a long time ago. They were SO EXCITED when I told them we were going to see it. This weekend was a great reminder of how much I have to be thankful for! Thanks Sissy for a great weekend!

Faulkner County Fair Parade

Tuesday was a fun filled day for us. After I picked the boys up from school, we met some friends at Toad Suck park for a playdate. Then we went to the Faulkner County Fair parade in downtown Conway. I was told it was one of the biggest parades in Arkansas. The boys had so much fun!! We are SO PROUD of Jim Stone Elementary (Brayden's school) for winning first place for their float for the third year in a row. Way to go JSE Stallions!!! After the parade we headed to church for my bible study. Needless to say, the boys CRASHED when we got home!

What a BUSY, BUT GREAT weekend we have had!! I attended the Women's Conference 2011 put on by NLC in Little Rock on Friday and Saturday. The speakers and material were great and really helped me see things I was struggling with in a new perspective. I also got to have some much needed girl time, thanks Kristi and Mary!!! My parents came up to spend time with the boys. I'm so thankful for them : ) It does the boys good to be with someone other than Mommy every now and then. Saturday night the boys and I went to church. We are in the Big Screen series and the movie was Tangled....so cute : ) Today was a rainy Sunday, perfect for some family time. We slept in (a very rare thing for us) and spent the day together cleaning house, coloring pictures (thanks Nana for the new coloring books), playing Ironman and Power Rangers, working on Brayden's homework, and getting ready for our busy week. It's AMAZING to me that when you are seeking God's plan for you, he opens all kinds of doors. The Lord showed me this weekend how very blessed I am. Brayden, Bryson, and I are a family, and there is no where I would rather be than with them. I love you sweet boys! It isn't always about being exactly where you should be in life, as long as you are on the right path.......it's about NOT being where you shouldn't be. I have no doubt that being the best Mom I can be to these two precious gifts is exactly where I should be. What a great day to celebrate the Lord!

On our Target trip tonight, both the boys found something they wanted to buy with their "walking around cash" as Pawpaw puts it. They were matching Spiderman gloves. Usually when we get home, Brayden opens his door to get out and Bryson follows. Bryson never came out of the door. I went back to the car and this is how I found him, lol. I love this baby boy's imagination. Those gloves made him feel like the real deal ; ) Boys are so fun!

Our routine is whoever's night it is, the others repeat it : ) Here is what my sweet angel said: "Dear God, thank you for our hearts, for our mouths, for our nose, and for our eye balls and what's these Mommy (as he pointed to his eyebrows ; ) Thank you for Mommy, and Daddy, and Brayden, and Audrey. Thank you for Nana, and Papa, and Boone. and Tuff. Thank you for Sissy and Uncle Key. Thank you for Eli, and Sawyer, and Sawyer's Mommy, and puppies, and kitty cats. Thank you for Jordan, and Grandma. Thank you for Razorbacks, and Optimus, and Bumble Bee. Forgive us of our sins. I love you Jesus. AMEN. We had a great day with the Eberhard family. Alicia and I were talking about how well our boys get along. Our oldest two have similar personalities and our youngest two have similar personalities. It's so cute...Bryson woke up today saying "Sawyer is my bestest friend, can I see him today"......awww!! I couldn't resist! Although exhausting, it makes for fun playdates. We started our day out at Laurel park. It was a BEAUTIFUL morning!! Alicia treated us to a yummy Mexican lunch, such a thoughtful friend! After naps we went to Gatlin park to ride on the bike trail and play at the playgroud. I'm not sure if Brayden spent more time disassembling his bike or riding, but either way he had a blast ; ) I had two DIRTY little boys when we got home, lol. After much needed baths and a yummy dinner, they were OUT by 8:30 ; ) I love Sundays with my babies, makes this life a little sweeter!

What a perfect night for a pool party. I can not believe I have a six year old!!! I am so glad today was such a great day for Brayden! We celebrated by having a pool party at our friend Alicia's parents house. It was so generous of them to open their home to us. Brayden was so excited to have his closest friends to share this special day with. He was super excited to have his best friend Audrey there. Today is her parents 10 year wedding anniversary and they chose to spend it with us, that means so much. Happy Anniversary Cowger's!!! I am so proud of my big six year old boy and all his accomplishments. Thank you all for the love you have shown him, we are truely blessed!

My parents wanted the boys this past weekend to celebrate Brayden's upcoming 6th birthday. Brayden knew he was going to see his Nana and ALL WEEK he would ask me after school if today was the day. The boys had such a great time!! You can see from Brayden's expression how excited he was that they decorated the house for him. It was so thoughtful of my parents to get BOTH my boys new bikes and to say they were from me. Thanks Nana and Papa for a great weekend of fishing, bike riding, and a great birthday party! While my boys were away for the weekend, my friend Sara and baby girl Khyann came to town for a visit. We had a great girls weekend. Sunday when I got back with the boys, we went to Eli's birthday party at the Go Kart place here in town. It was so much fun!! The boys had a blast : )

The First Day of Big "K"

You would think that after having almost six years to prepare for today I would be ready, but my heart was far from it. However, Brayden woke up so excited for his first day of Kindergarten! He even woke his brother up to say "Hurry Bryson, we are going to be late" : ). They started Kindergarten at 9:00 today so that all the parents of the Kindergarteners would be less frazzled. I was thankful because Bryson needed to be at his school by 8:30, so it worked out perfect. While we were dropping Bryson off, Brayden had a chance to see his teacher from last year, Mrs. Nicole. He was so excited to tell her about his new school he was attending today. She gave him a big hug and prayed with him. We will definitely miss her! Brayden wanted to call Nana on his way to school, she seemed excited to hear from him ; ). When we arrived in the parking lot of Jim Stone, it really started to hit me. I can't believe my baby boy is a Kindergartener. We saw Brayden's best friend, Audrey, and had to get a pic. They aren't in the same class, but I know they will have fun at recess. Brayden wanted to hold my hand when we walked in the school, needless to say this made my heart happy. When we got to Brayden's room, Mrs. Philpot greeted Brayden with open arms. He was excited to hang up his Iron Man backpack, find his seat and start coloring. I'm amazed at how quickly Brayden makes friends, he's such an outgoing little guy. After watching him color for about five minutes, Mrs. Philpot turned on the television for morning announcements and the pledge of allegiance. There was a lady that came in the room and informed all the parents that the PTO was hosting a "Boohoo Breakfast" down the hall and it was time to go. What?!!! So Soon?!! My heart sank and I could feel the tears starting to fill my eyes. I was walking out and was waving bye when Brayden motioned me to come where he was. He gave me a kiss, and yes.....the tears fell. I told him to have a wonderful first day and I would see him very soon. When I walked out of the class I felt overjoyed with pride and heavy with saddness all in one. The Boohoo Breakfast was such a great idea. Even if we couldn't be in the same room with our "babies" atleast we were just right down the hall a little while longer. It was mostly quiet in the room. It was hard for me not to notice all the couples. The Dad's consoling the Mom's and how they made it a point to be there together for such a special occasion. One of the thoughts going through my head as I set there surrounded by other parents was that I hope Jimmy's heart was filled with grief today for missing such a big event in Brayden's life over nothing but foolishness. Then I said a prayer for Brayden and Bryson that they do not let the fact that their Dad isn't man enough to be there for them make them feel the least bit sad or unwanted. I also prayed that my sweet boys have a wonderful first day of school and that I would have peace knowing that my babies are well taking care of.

What a Difference a Summer Makes!!!

During Brayden's Pre-K year, he showed little interest in his writing and artistic side. Thankfully, that has changed this summer. We spend hours a day working on his coloring, writing, and everything in between preparing for the Big "K". I'm amazed at the diffence in his coloring at the beginning of the summer versus the end. Look at how differently he writes his name. The lizard was done in May and the penguin was done in August. I'm such a proud Momma of this big growing boy! He's definitely ready for Kindergarten. Me.......not so much : (

First let me start by saying this is far from my happiest post. Unfortunately I haven't known really what to say for the past eight months. Life has went on, but it seems like a blur. My world has been turned upside down. Six months ago I was under the impression that I was in a happy marriage and we had been actively trying for over a year to add to our family. Since then, Jimmy has decided to quit our family and himself as far as I'm concerned. I don't really want to share all the details, but just imagine a Jerry Springer type Soap Opera and that would pretty much sum it up. There has been several events in my boys lives such as Brayden's Pre-K graduation, his T.O.T performance, Tball, Safety Town, Bryson's birthday, and so much more. I know I could have posted about these events, but it just felt like the shadow of this nasty divorce darkened the mood of what was supposed to be joyous occasions. I know I am a stronger person today than I was six months ago, but it's still a world away from where I know I need to be. My two baby boys are still very much heartbroken and confused, as am I. I wish with every fiber in my being that I could take that pain away from them. I'm not sure where we will be a year from now. Actually, I'm not sure where we will be three months from now. All I do know is that I appreciate all the kind words, love, support, and prayers that our family and friends have shown to my boys and I during this extremely difficult and trying time. I'm not quite sure how to do this journey of life being single, but I know God will be there for me every step of the way. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

"Jesus is My Bestest Friend" Program

Friday was a very busy day for the Keirsey family. We had Bryson's Christmas party at school and their preschool Christmas program "Jesus is My Bestest Friend" that night. Nana and Papa surprised the boys by coming to see their program. Neither of them knew they were there until they were entering the stage. I don't think either of them ever took their eyes off them. Bryson was on stage yelling "Nana.....Nana....." it was SO CUTE!!! Brayden was a shepard and Bryson was a sheep. All the kids did great and stole the hearts of all who were watching! I had family pictures taken with Jimmy and I in them, but along with several of the pictures taken they were too blurry to see. Santa......Momma needs a new camera ; )

Bryson's Christmas party was a Huge Disappointment. There was no crafts, no games, no decorations.....just cupcakes (blue and yellow.....not even Christmas colors) and a drink. I was the only Mom there, but now I see why. I have never missed Brayden's old preschool more in my life, not just for the amazing parties either. I just feel like my kids are missing out on so much by not being there......but I guess it isn't logical to make a four hour commute for preschool : ( I am homesick.

Brayden's Preschool had their Christmas party today and I am so excited I was able to go!!! They did a book exchange, made christmas ornaments, and ate Christmas cookies. Brayden had a great time, and so did I. I feel so blessed that my children attend a Christian Preschool because keeping Christ in Christmas is a priority. After the party we went to our friend Kristi's house to do a gift exchange. Brayden and Audrey have become such good friends. Their picture together in front of the tree cracks me up because it almost looks like a prom pic, lol. What a fun fulled morning we had!

Branson with the Vance Family

We took a quick trip to Branson this weekend to meet up with our friends, the Vance Family. They were kind enough to give us their FREE buddy passes into Silver Dollar City. We picked a VERY COLD night to go, but the up side is that we mostly had the park to ourselves. Our kiddos were mezmerized by the huge Christmas tree with cordinating music/lights when we first entered the park, it was beautiful!!! Next we rode the train and sipped the yummiest hot chocolate... so so fun! Jimmy and Bryson went back to the car shortly after....my hubby doesn't do the best in freezing conditions ; ). Plus, Bryson had lost a glove and his little hand was pitifully cold. Brayden and I stayed to watch the parade. About a minute before the parade began it started to snow. I know Brayden will remember this magical experience for years to come! His excitedment made my heart happy. We all have sore throats,snotty noses, and fun memories for souvenirs : ) It was well worth it. Thanks again Vances, it was so good to see you all!

Meet our Elf....Mr. Jingles

This year we decided to start a new Christmas tradition...."The Elf on the Shelf". It is such a cute book. The boys named our elf "Jingles". In the book it states that your elf will appear in a different place each morning until Christmas. The only rule is that you can not touch the elf. The elf watches over the children and reports back to Santa each night whether the boys have been naughty or nice. He moves to a new place each morning. On Christmas Eve the elf returns to the North Pole until next holiday season. The boys were so excited when they woke up today to find where Mr. Jingles would be watching from. Brayden even shows Mr. Jingles pictures in toy magazines of the things he would like to tell Santa he wants. Bryson wants to kiss him and tries scaling furniture to get to him, but we have to gently remind him "no touching Mr. Jingles" : ) I know we will have many fun memories with Mr. Jingles in the years to come : )

The boys were so excited to see Santa today. Bryson ran up to him, gave him a big hug, and said "I been a good boy". Brayden shook his hand and immediately told him he wanted a big red train. Momma was happy because we got a FREE 5x7 pic and there was no line! Daddy informed Santa about his desperate NEED to make a personal appearance at the Sugar Bowl this year : )

Trick or Treat!

Halloween seemed a bit rushed this year. Before we could get started, I had to drive to Van Buren to get my boys and we didn't get back to town until 5:30. Our first stop was to go see Brayden's friend Audrey. Brayden and Audrey adore each other and Audrey's mom Kristi and I have become friends. Kristi told me that one night when she was putting Audrey to bed that Audrey told her she was a princess and Brayden was her prince, how sweet is that!!! If you would like to know just how big my boys are......Audrey is the same size as Bryson, who is 2, and Brayden is the same age as Audrey. Needless to say, I have big boys ; ) We stopped by our house to pick up Jimmy and away we went. Our Ninja Turtle and Buzz Lightyear hit almost every house in a 2 block radius and filled their bags over half full, not counting all the goodie bags from school, grandparents, and us. We had a couple of Halloween shows for the boys to watch when we got home while they enjoyed some of their treats. Everyone was exhausted from the excitement of the evening and we all were in bed early.......after brushing all the candy out of our teeth of course ; )

We were so excited about this past weekend. We had plans to drop our babies off at their Nana and Papa's, go to Fayetteville for dinner with a group of our friends from High School, stay the night, go to the Hog game Saturday, dinner with friends that night, then home to Conway. Needless to say.....our plans changed, lol. Plan B.....Friday night was pizza and the Pointer football game (which the boys LOVED), Saturday we let the boys roast marshmellows at the "fire campin' " grill and we watched the Hogs at home. Sunday was church and lunch at a new Chinese place. Although I know we would have had fun in Fayetteville, the quality time we shared as a family was better than anything we could have done alone. Sometimes life's curve balls are the greatest gifts : ).

Ridin' in the Rock

I love my little cowboys!! Tonight they got all dressed up to go watch "Ridin' in the Rock" with their Nana and Papa. Ridin' in the Rock is a professional bullriding event held at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock. My hubby and I were able to enjoy a date night, so fun was had by all!! Thanks Nana and Papa for treating our boys to such a fun eventful night! I know they had a great time!

Oh how we love this time of year!! Football, beautiful weather, fall colors, yummy food, pumpkins, and FAMILY!!! We had tons of fun with these little boys carving our jackolanterns today. Tomorrow fall decorations go up.....YAY!! IT'S FALL YA'LL!

Brayden had such a great time at his birthday party at JumpZone!! Thank you so much to everyone who came to celebrate our precious boy's 5th birthday. He loved seeing you all. Thank you for all the awesome Ironman gifts, he's definitely set!! I was excited that everyone loved the cake. We got an orange flavored cake with cream cheese icing from Paul's Bakery in Van Buren, it was YUMMY!! What a grand finale to his birthday celebrations!

What an exciting, fun-filled, BUSY Thursday we had!! We started our day off at Brayden's Mimi's house to celebrate his birthday. She got him and AWESOME Ironman helmet to go with his costume and two Ironman shirts. He LOVED them! Thanks Mimi for the great gifts! Next we went to Nana and Papa's house. Brayden got a SUPER CUTE transformers costume and helmet! I think Bryson took ownership of it though, lol. After playing in the costumes for a while, Brayden and Bryson rode Boone, Papa's horse. They LOVED IT!! Thank you Nana and Papa for the awesome birthday gifts and the fun evening for the boys. While the boys were having fun with Nana and Papa, we went to my close friend Casey's 30th birthday party. It was a "Twilight" theme and her mom did such a great, creative job decorating! The food was so yummy and we had a blast! It was such a great evening!

I am starting to like Brayden's school more and more! They had the kiddos do a project where they filled a construction paper page full of family. They were putting all the pages in a book that the kids could look at whenever they felt lonely or missed their family. I think that is such a cute idea and just shows how nurturing they are to these precious babies!

It's hard to believe that five years ago today I first laid eyes on this precious boy! Brayden has definitely kept me on my toes !!

Brayden is.............

* extremely tall for his age! He TOWERS above the other kiddos in his class. He has always been tall for his age

* he loves chocolate milk, ice cream, chicken, and fruit

* he would rather go hungry than ever touch a green bean or tomato, lol

* he is very tender hearted

* he wants what he wants, how he wants it, when he wants it, or believe me......you will pay, lol

* he is very into Ironman right now. He still likes Spongebob(no stank eye Casey ; ) ) , monster trucks, and trains

* he loves Jesus

* he can beat his daddy on some video games, that cracks me up

* he and his brother fight hard and love harder

* he is the spitting image of his Papa

* you won't find a greater love than he has for his Nana

* he is a cowboy at heart.......loves country music, being out side, hunting, and horses

* he is so strong willed

* I love him to pieces

We had a great day celebrating Brayden's 5th birthday! We took ironman cupcakes to his school to celebrate with his class. After school we opened presents, had ironman birthday cake (I would have showed a picture of it but I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH IT), and went out for pizza. Yes, in that order too.......he was the birthday boy and wanted his cake BEFORE dinner ; ) . Ironman is starting to wear down. He was so excited for his birthday that he couldn't nap. He needs his rest.......tomorrow is another day of celebrating!

We just finished our second week of Pre-K and preschool. I am very proud to report that the boys are doing wonderful!! I posted a picture of Brayden's behavior report for last week. He loves his teacher and I have no doubt she loves him!! Bryson has gotten reports saying "perfect", "sweetheart", and "awesome". That is great for a two year old!! Especially when I have talked to some of the other moms whose kiddos got reports saying "working on.....". I love seeing their little projects and hearing all the things they learned about God's love!! I truely enjoy witnessing these growing minds and growing boys! We are blessed beyond measure with these precious babies. What a great way to start the school year! Keep it up boys!!! I'm one proud Momma!

New Beginnings.....Pre-K and Preschool

Thursday night we had clothes laid out, back packs loaded, and everything ready to go for the morning.........except for my heart. Friday was the boys first day of school. Brayden started Pre-K and Bryson started preschool for the first time. Even though they both only go part time (M/W/F), it is still a big deal to let them go after having the whole summer with them at home. Brayden woke up excited to go see his friends and meet his new teacher. Bryson was a sleepy head (just like his mommy) and I basically got him dressed while he was still asleep, lol. When we got to the school they were so excited to put on their new backpacks and get their day started. I, on the other hand, was trying to hide my broken heart. We took Bryson to his class first. He was great until he saw the other two year olds crying for their mommys, and of course my baby won't be left out of anything. The pacifier came to the rescue, lol. I was able to leave once I saw him happy and playing. Brayden gave him a hug and said "love you bubba", it melted me. Brayden loved his class and his new teacher, Miss Nicole. We really like this preschool. Don't get me wrong, I miss Brayden's old school terribly, but I feel we have chosen the right school here. Once I told Brayden bye, I walked to my car as fast as I could. I barely got the door open before the tears were falling. I had both the boys in their classes by 8:10 and I was still in my car sobbing in the parking lot at 8:55. It was the hardest thing for me to leave. I actually called the office and had them check on Bryson before I left. They said he was "perfect". I decided to spend my first "kiddo free" day having a great session of retail therapy. I was able to get Brayden's birthday gifts, party favors, and all invites completed and mailed. I was so happy to go pick them up. They both had a wonderful day. Once I was able to leave the parking lot that morning, I realized I had a wonderful day too. It's so hard to watch our babies grow up.

Pink Eye has struck AGAIN

I am sadly reporting that Brayden has developed pink eye today. I was diagnosed with it last monday. Since I have been on medicine since then, I thought we were in the clear. Apparently not. My goodness, how this lingers. My friend Casey warned me this might happen, but I was so hoping it wouldn't. This momma hates when her babies are sick!

This little cupcake is so good that I am convinced they serve it in Heaven!! For the Fourth of July I bought some cupcakes from Wal-Mart. They were white cake, chocolate butter cream frosting, and red, white and blue star sprinkles. Since they were from Wal-Mart and not an actual private owned bakery I was convinced they would taste store bought. I tried one and OH MY GOODNESS!! There was no way I could eat just one. I was so sad when they were gone that I went back to Wal-Mart to see if they had more, but they did not. That was a good thing though because I could order them custom made. The only thing different from the one's I ordered and the one's I bought for the 4th was the sand sugar sprinkle. I LOVED the texture the sprinkles gave it and they are definitely my new fave. The only thing that could have made it better was if the sprinkles were pink. After all, color really does matter ; ).

Because of this CRAZY summer heat, we wait until late afternoon to play outside unless water is involved. My boys LOVE to play with water guns, which mixed wonderfully with the dirt pile they were playing in as you can see. Bath time was super fun tonight ; ). The most precious thing of all though was Brayden. We decided to have costume time after baths. We told them to dress up as their favorite Super Hero. Brayden's super hero he chose was his Daddy, so he dressed up in his "business clothes".......makes my heart so happy!!

Hubby's Grounded Indefinitely

While I was on my way to my mini-vacation this weekend with Amanda, I called my hubby to find out what him and the boys were up to. I knew he had told me he may take "Brayden" to get a hair cut. So the call goes like this......Me ,"Hey honey, what are you and boys up to". Him, "We just got back home from getting the boys hair cut". I said "You mean Brayden's hair cut". He said "Well, I though Bryson needed one too, so I got his cut also". Me "Well how short did you get it? He's only had one hair cut Jimmy!! I love his baby soft hair!". Him "Well, they used a shorter GUARD than I thought". Me, "A GUARD, YOU USED A GUARD ON MY BABY......SEND ME A PICTURE RIGHT NOW". I hang up and am sobbing. So I get the picture and cry harder. Yes, he is adorable, even in this WAY TOO SHORT hair cut. That isn't the point. The point is, I loved running my fingers through his baby soft hair and I can only hope and pray it grows back as soft and BABYISH. I call my hubby back only to let him know that even though it may be adorable on him, he is grounded indefinitely and may never under any circumstances take my snook for a haircut.

What a FUN family day we had Saturday!! We played at the house until lunch time, went to eat Mexican food, went to the pool with friends, and were planning to go to a neighborhood BBQ that started at 5:00. I am FRIED by the way, lol. I must have been so distracted by making sure my boys were properly shlackered with sunscreen that I forgot to use it myself..now I look like a lobster, lol. We got home from the pool around 3:30. Bryson went straight to nap. Brayden asked for a snack.....well, you see how far he got with that, lol. I layed down too about 3:45 thinking we would all get up about 4:45 to walk down to the BBQ. We all woke up at 7:00, lol. The pool is great medicine for long summer naps!! What a great day we had!

My Sick Big Boy Now

This has not been a week of good health at the Keirsey home! Luckily, Jimmy hasn't got the stomach virus yet and I pray he doesn't. Brayden got sick Friday afternoon and has been sick ever since. Bryson is no longer running fever or vomiting, but has HORRIBLE diapers!! I haven't been sick since yesterday, but my tummy feels really sensitive. I believe we are keeping Lysol and Gain in business this week! I pray this sickness passes very soon. This was not the way we had hoped our first Memorial Day as a family would be spent (this is the first year Jimmy has been off work on Memorial Day weekend since we got engaged).

Bryson has been running a high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for the past twenty four hours. He has slept all but fifteen minutes from four this morning until six thirty this evening. Hopefully he will still be able to sleep tonight (lets keep our fingers crossed!). Thankfully his fever broke about an hour ago. I hope and pray he is on the mend. I HATE to see this precious angel suffer, hurts my heart. Please keep him in your prayers!

A Visit from MiMi!!

We are thrilled to have Mimi visit us for a few days! The last picture cracks me up because this was Brayden's excited expression when we told him Mimi was here, lol. We are so happy she got to go to our church today, she enjoyed it as much as we did. We are also very thankful that she watched the boys for us so we could go to dinner and a movie. Dates are far and few between for us these days, especially since we have moved. I know we will have lots more fun these next few days while she's here.

Ever since Brayden understood what a bicycle was, he has been on one. Bryson has watched his bubba "pedal" his bike nearly every day. Bryson gets on his bicycle and big wheel and pushes with his feet (think Flintstones driving) most of the time, with few attempts at pedaling. Today was different!! My big boy decided he would no longer wait in the dust.....he is pedaling like a big boy now. I was so proud......but part of me still wants to see my litte BamBam pushing away!

Mother's Day Tea

Brayden's preschool hosted a Tea in honor of Mother's Day . The kiddos did the cutest questionaires about their Mommies. Apparently Brayden thinks I am 5 years old and I love steak ; ). The sweetest answer he gave was that I'm the best mommy in the whole world because "her's my best friend". The Moms enjoyed tea, chocolate, and cookies. As you can see in the picture, the kiddos enjoyed cupcakes.......maybe a little too much ; ) . We had a wonderful time and I feel very loved by my big boy!

What a bittersweet day for me! My baby boy turned two today. I'm so very proud of him and all the wonderful things he's achieved already in his life, but at the same time I'm absolutely heartbroken that he's growing up. We had to celebrate without Daddy today, but we tried to make the best of it. I had planned to take the boys to Toadsuck Daze, but the weather was not our friend. Instead, we had to eat birthday cake in between tornado warnings, then back to the laundry room for shelter we went. I do believe Bryson had a great day, despite all the circumstances. I told Bryson to put on his birthday hat, he ran to my shower and came out wearing my shower cap instead, LOL. Brayden was a great big brother, as you can see in the pics, and helped read Bryson his birthday card and open gifts. I have a small confession. When I first found out I was pregnant two years and nine months ago, I was hoping for a baby girl. I'm SO HAPPY he wasn't!!!

The "Big Hunt" at Clearcreek

This Saturday was such a fun family day!! We met up with my parents, my aunt and uncle, and their son and family at Clearcreek. We were having a family get together and celebrating Bryson's 2nd birthday early. Thank the good Lord the weather cleared up so we could enjoy our day outdoors. We fished, had a picnic, and the little ones had a "Big Hunt" for stuffed animals. Of course, the hunt would not be complete without rifles and cowboy hats. There isn't much my boys do these days without gun in hand and hat on. It was a great time and I hope we get a chance to do it more often!!

I believe this Easter was the best one yet for our family!! Church was AMAZING! After church, Nana and Papa came to visit. We had lunch and a very fun easter egg hunt. My youngest was so exhausted that he fell asleep for the night at 6:45. So.........4:45 this morning, he was ready to Rock'n Roll.......Mommy, not so much. We have so much to be thankful for this Easter!! What an AMAZING God we serve!!

I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted......5 months to be exact. After purchasing our new computer lastnight I am inspired to blog again ; ), plus with a little encouragement from my dear friend Casey. These pics are of our last trip to Nana and Papa's house. Papa took the boys to get their first REAL cowboy hats and of course the package wouldn't have been complete without the rifles! The absolutely LOVE it at Nana and Papa's, though, they are quite rough on their house (Sorry Nana). I believe Brayden could be on the farm the rest of his days and be perfectly content. Sorry Papa, their is no denying he's your grandson!! They boys have wore their hats and chased each other and "deer hunted" in our house everyday since we have been home. I'm so outnumbered in this house, but so BLESSED to be!!

Halloween was tons of fun this year!! Brayden was black spiderman and Bryson was a monkey. They were BOTH SO ADORABLE!! We celebrated early in the week at Brayden's preschool. There was a cute little program and a halloween party to follow. The night of Halloween we went trick-or-treating and got WAY TOO MUCH CANDY. Jimmy gladly took most of it to work to save our children's teeth and to save our patience from sugar overload ; ) !! I just love this time of year!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 was touring in Kansas City this past Sunday. My wonderful hubby got me a ticket to the show and shopping money for my birthday. I invited my best friend Amanda to come with me. The show was AMAZING!! Television doesn't do these dancers justice. I was so excited to see my favorite routines from the season performed. We had such great seats.......three rows off the stage. We felt like we could reach out and touch them. My entire trip was wonderful. We shopped til we dropped, ate at our favorite restaurants, watched SYTYCD, and enjoyed some much needed girl time. Even though it was only an overnight trip, we packed as much into it as we possibly could. I feel so blessed for these little get aways. I can't wait for Season 6 to start touring.......WE'RE THERE!!

For Brayden's actual birthday, September 1, we decided to celebrate.....again, lol!! To start the day off, we took Brayden to get a donut at the bakery before school. At school, Brayden brought cupcakes for his class. We then went to lunch at Chik-Fil-A and let the kiddos play in their play area. After dinner that night, we took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese. Needless to say......Brayden had a great time. He was so tired that night that he actually fell asleep while I was reading to him. That was the first time he has ever fell asleep during a story. I stayed in there a while just watched my big boy sleep and thanking the Lord for blessing me with him!! I can't believe it's been four years since I brought him home from the hospital......what a journey it's been!

Brayden Celebrates the Big "4"

Brayden had a "Spongetastic" time celebrating his 4th birthday at Maccaroo Gyms surrounded by his friends and family! Thank you all so much for coming and making Brayden feel so special. I was so excited about his cake!! Tonia Fry did a FABULOUS job of decorating it and it tasted as great as it looked! The last picture I thought was ADORABLE!! The little girl in the picture is crazy about Brayden. They go to preschool together......isn't she a doll!! I have to say..........I think she has impeccable taste in men ; ) !

First Day of School '09

My big boy started preschool again today and was SO EXCITED to see his teachers and all his friends. We absolutely ADORE his preschool. The teachers are always so enthusiastic and loving. Brayden has learned so many new wonderful things.......most importantly about Jesus. When I picked him up from preschool and we were walking to the car he said "Mom, who lives in your heart?" I said "My love for you, and Bryson, and Daddy. Who lives in your heart?" He replied, "Jesus". I was melted!! I can't believe my baby will be four in less than two weeks........where does the time go? We are so proud of you Brayden!!

My Little Superheroes

To celebrate Brayden's first day of school, we dressed our little superheroes up and took them to Chik-fil-a for some superhero fun. They had a great time!! Brayden loved seeing all the superheroes, especially Spiderman. He gave them high-fives and posed with his "super muscles". Bryson enjoyed waving at them, in the safety of Mommy and Daddy's arms of course. He also enjoyed running around growling at everyone (thanks for teaching him that Papa).

It seems like yesterday I brought my precious angel home from the hospital........not a year ago. It's flying by entirely too fast for me. I find myself thinking "maybe if I never set him down, he will never learn to walk and I can keep him my baby forever". He fills my heart with so much joy.

To celebrate his birthday, we had a party at our local skating rink. It was a BLAST!! We took his walker so he could "skate" too. He had so much fun! We had such a great turn out of family and friends. Thank you all for coming and celebrating the first birthday of our second miracle!!

Easter 2009

We had a great Easter this year. It was a bit bittersweet since it was Bryson's last "first" holiday. The easterbunny came to visit and the kids were very excited. We had a great morning at church. The easter egg hunt was moved indoors because of the weather, but I think it was better that way for Bryson. We feel so blessed with these two boys and are so thankful the Lord decided to share them with us.

Spring Soccer

This is Brayden's first year to play soccer. He has caught on so well and we are so proud of him. There have been some issues with the soccer program this year, which has us questioning whether or not he will play again next season. At this age though, the most important thing is that the kiddos are having fun.......I believe they are. It was soooo cold out one night, so Papa and Bry-Bry enjoyed the game from the car. I bet neither could tell you the score of that game.......Bryson was far too busy trying to drive...lol.

"Daddy & Me" Night out

The other night Jimmy and Brayden participated in a Parents as Teachers event called "Daddy & Me". Parents as Teachers is a wonderful program for babies through preschool age children that gets the parents involved with activities to promote their overall development. We highly recommend it to all. This particular activity involved the kids and their Dads for a night full of games, sports, and crafts. Jimmy and Brayden had a great time!

I can eat Puffs Now!!

The other day I decided I would let Bryson try some of the "Puffs" for older babies. He only has two teeth, so I wasn't quite sure how he would do with them. I expected to have to put one in his mouth, then dig it out as fast as I could because he was choking on it. To my surprise......he picked it up himself with this finger and thumb, put it in his mouth, chewed and swallowed without hesitation. It was a bittersweet moment for me. I was so very proud of my big boy for his great fine motor skills and the fact that he knew to chew this new food. However, part of me wanted to rip the puff from his hand and demand he stay my sweet little baby forever. This growing up thing is happening far to fast for me. Look out world..........another Keirsey boy is on his way!!

Company Dinner Party

This past Sunday, Jimmy's company treated the store employees and their spouses to a dinner at Logan's. They had beat the store record for most volume in a single day. We are so proud of you Jimmy for all your hard work! The boys had a great time, too. Brayden loves to eat at places where they allow you to throw things on the floor......imagine that. I even let Bryson sit in the highchair instead of his carseat for the first time. I know he's been quite capable for awhile, but I refuse to let him grow up any fast than I have to. Dinner was so yummy. They had the best fried shrimp I have ever had........ever. I know what I'll be eating for Valentine's Day......lol.

Playdate at Chik-Fil-a

This past Saturday we had a playdate at Chik-fil-a with a group of kids from Brayden's preschool. It was great to get to meet and visit with some of the parents and Brayden's classmates. We had such a great time that we were there almost two hours. Bryson even had fun. Hopefully this was just the first of many more playdates!!

Willy Wonka Play

My friend Sara treated Brayden and I to a Willy Wonka Play put on by a youth drama team in Pittsburgh Kansas. It was a great time! Brayden and I got to spend some much needed quality time together while Daddy got to spend and evening at home with Bryson. Brayden loved the play. He even stood up and started dancing while singing "Ompa Lumpa...............". Everyone thought it was adorable. After the play we all went to Chilis.......which just happens to be one of my favorite places to eat. I can not believe we do not have one here!! Thanks Sara, Brayden and I had a great night!!

My Manager of the Year!!

Every year Jimmy's company hosts and award banquet to recognize the achievements of its employees. We always look forward to it because it's a great getaway and the Chateau on the Lake is so nice. Jimmy's goal since he has became a manager was to win "Manager of the Year". This year.......he accomplished his goal. We are so proud of his hard work and success. Jimmy and his crew are all work and no play (if you only knew!) As you can see him and his assistant manager take things very seriously......lol. After the dinner and the awards, everyone mingles and dances the night away. I snapped a photo of my parents taking advantage of the festivities. When we returned home, there was a chance of snow. It was BEAUTIFUL!! I had to take Bryson out to experience how fun it is to have snow fall on your face. Of course, he just wanted to eat it......lol.

Last weekend we had a great visit with Nana and Sissy!! The day was quite eventful. Bryson's favorite thing is bathtime. You would think he was a fish. The second his tootsies touch the water he goes to splashing and giggling. Since I had backup.....lol......I allowed Brayden and Bryson to bathe together for the first time. Despite a few "major waves" thanks to Brayden, it was a great time. We loved having Nana and Sissy visit and hope they come again soon.

The first week of 2009 has surrounded us with sickness. New Year's Day we had to take Brayden to the doctor. He had a double ear infection, tested positive for flu, and had pneumonia in his right lung. My son is "not cooperative" to say the least when it comes to taking medicine. Therefore, we got suppositories..........fun times! Especially when my 3 year old can kick like a seventh grader. We are so thankful that he is finally on the mend. However, we had to take Bryson to the doctor today because he had cold like symptoms and was wheezy. He tested positive for RSV. As you can see, we are giving him breathing treatments and trying to ride it out. Please keep my boys in your prayers!!

A Weekend at Nana and Papa's

This past weekend we went to visit Nana and Papa!! Brayden was "Nana's Boy" the entire time and Papa was referred to as "The Baby Hog". As you can see, Bryson is hard work.........lol. It was a great time! I got to visit a close friend on Saturday while my boys were being spoiled at their grandparents house. Brayden is still talking about the train ride in Creekmore park!! We can't wait to see you again on Christmas Eve! Thanks for such a great weekend!

Brayden's First Dentist Appointment

Brayden had his first ever dentist appointment last week. He did better than I expected. Dr. S was able to count his teeth (he has 20), clean them, floss them, and look for "candy bugs". As you can see in the second picture.......Brayden had a few "candy bugs". Mommy is definitely going to help Brayden more with brushing his teeth.........not a pleasant event around our house! Another exciting occurance.......since we are on a teeth subject.........Bryson got his first tooth on December 5th. He constantly sticks his tongue in the way every time I try to get a picture, but hopefully soon I will get one!

Go Tabor Go!!

I was so excited that I got to see Amanda and her family on Saturday. Her husband is the head basketball coach of Tabor College. They were playing a team in Claremore, Oklahoma, on Saturday so I took the kiddos. It was a great time. I have to say, taking two children by myself to a basketball game was not the easiest time I have every had. I'm not sure I could tell you two plays in the whole game. The important thing is that we had fun. I loved getting to see you Amanda, although I wish it was a longer visit. I guess our visits are never long enough though!

Tonight was the funnest night I have ever had with Brayden! It was just us two and I took him skating for the first time. Our friend Sara and her boys invited us to the local skating rink for a fundraiser for their school. I'm so glad and grateful they did. Brayden did pretty well considering it was his first time. He held my had the whole time. However, as you can see in the last picture, I let go just once and he fell........hitting his cheek. He's a tough little guy though! A quick little cry and we were off again. My absolute favorite part was at the end. They had all the kids take off their skates and do the "Cha Cha Slide" and the "Chicken Dance". Brayden was so adorable!! He danced the whole time. I have videos that I will post, but I had technical difficulties tonight. I'll try again. Thanks again Sara for the invite........WE HAD A BLAST!!

Superheros Unite

A few months back, there was a Chick-fil-A that opened in Joplin in addition to the one inside the mall. We are all big Chick-fil-A fans!! This Chick-fil-A goes above and beyond customer service! They always have great events for families. This event was "Superheros Unite". They had all the main superhero characters, free food for the kids, a monster truck, balloon characters, and party favors for everyone. Brayden refused to wear his ninja turtle costume once we arrived, but he still decided to use his sword on a few of the superheros. His favorite part was the moster truck. He had a hard time leaving it.......yes, there was bribery involved. Bryson LOVED the superheros.......as you can see in the picture. We all had a great time.

Fabulous Fall

Fall is definitely my favorite time of year!! I love everything about it. I love the beautiful colors of the leaves, the cool crisp air, and the introduction to the festive holidays. This tree is so beautiful. It is on the street in front of our house and I can't help but stare and comment on it everytime we pass by it. Just as the fall brings about changes in the scenery, this fall has brought about many changes for our family! We FINALLY closed on our house we have been trying to sell for a year!! We love the area we are in. Our life is much fuller and happier than it has been in a long time!! We have found a church that we enjoy and look forward to attending every Sunday. We are blessed with two healthy, gorgeous, joyful boys that make our hearts smile everyday. Our hearts are filled with love, gratitude, and hope. We have been blessed in so many ways and we are so thankful!!

Trick or Treat!!

This year was definitely our most exciting Halloween ever!! We were so excited that Nana and Papa could share it with us!! We started the day at Brayden's preschool where the kids did a parade in their Halloween costumes. Brayden was a ferocious dragon and Bryson was a sweet pea. Brayden was so excited to see his Nana and Papa that he left the line and came charging for them. Of course, Nana had to hold his had and walk in the parade with him or else he would not have budged. After the parade, we went inside for the Halloween Party. Brayden and his Papa was BIG BUDDIES!! They colored pictures, played games, dug for bones in the corn graveyard, and played spooky golf. Brayden and his Nana got matching pink cats stamped on their hands. They had a train for the kids that Brayden spent most of his time riding......it was a great time!! Halloween evening we went to our church for a hayride. Brayden LOVED it!! I think his favorite part was door to door Trick-or-Treating. Brayden got enough candy to last him until next Halloween. Thank you Nana and Papa for sharing in this exciting event with us!! It wouldn't have been the same without you there!!

Cabin Fever

Our family has all been sick with a nasty cold for the past few days. Unfortunately this caused us to miss a much anticipated camping trip to a cabin with my aunt and her family. We had already bought all the food and supplies we needed for the trip. Brayden was very disappointed, as were we that we could not go. After being stuck in this house for three days, we were all bored and stir crazy. We decided we didn't have to miss all the fun of camping even if we couldn't actually be there. We got out all our supplies we had bought to make s'mores and had a marshmellow roast and s'more making date in the middle of our living room. They were so yummy and Brayden had a blast. However, we believe he likes fire way more than he should. Thank goodness it's fire safety month at his preschool. Although Bryson slept through our s'more making event, he didn't miss all the fun. Mommy took him for a wild and crazy ride in the Lego wagon today. He loved every second of it!! We made the most of our evening at home!!
